Sentinel’s Fate – The Hole Part 1

nexus enter the holeToday’s pictoral tour of the new Everquest 2 expansion Sentinel’s Fate is The Hole. Those of you who played Everquest will remember the hole, things have changed.

It’s a nice zone though and as Keoq one of our members commented, it’s nice to see other people in a dungeon type zone.

I won’t go into details of what each pic is as I was healing at the time and didn’t have time to note areas down. As there are many heroic ^^^ mobs in the hole I couldn’t really go back and take notes. ;)

Instead, here is your chance to tour the hole with neXus. Your guides for the tour are Yetian, Milkyjoe, Urstrix, Katary, Gotchi and Keoq.

Tinkering maxed again

Yetian's newly tinkered mount - Hotwired Gnomish HoverpadWell as I’m now a level 90 tailor (wooo me), I’m also able to reach max tinkering. It took me all of an hour or so to hit that max taking my tinkering in total from 400 to 450.

The best item I’ve been able to make is the Hotwired Gnomish Hoverpad which you can see in the image above. It’s a 68% speed mount which means I don’t have to go and do those Ice faction quests which I never got round to. It did require 4 (maybe 5) brellium ore’s which i bought from the broker. I have been trying to harvest all my rares but I just had to buy those to make the Hoverpad.

Granted I might run at 67.5% solo but 5% of that is with my bogstrutter charm item, so that can now go.

Other items I can now make include:

Sundered Frontier Tour – Part 1

Claimed appearance armour from Sentinel's FateI have had a few days to wander around Sundered Frontier, the first overland zone in the newly released Everquest expansion Sentinel’s Fate. During my exploration of the new zone I’ve taken a few screenshots for your viewing pleasure. This is just part 1 of Yetian’s Sundered Frontier tour, as I’ve yet to explore parts of the zone. The pics I’ve taken so far are of the area’s or creature’s I’ve encountered while questing.

Sentinel’s Fate – I’ve got mine

It’s that time again, the new Everquest 2 expansion Sentinel’s fate is released on Monday 16th (head start date).

I had an email last night from DLgamer so I’ve bought my copy from them via Digital download pre-order.

Here’s the link in case anyone else wants it:

It’s not an affiliate link or anything similar, just thought I’d let you know where I bought mine.

Sentinel’s Fate Digital Download for none US customers

SOE have finally announced a Digital download version of Sentinel’s Fate will be available to none US customers. It seems that the download will be available from 2-3 sites and should be made available on February 16th.

I would say I’m surprised that it has taken SOE so long to announce this, but I’m actually more surprised they have announced it at all. We all know Sony Online Entertainment are not known for their concern for European Customer’s so someone somewhere must have spotted they were losing out on cash.

I’ll be buying my digital download when it’s available as it’s one less box I’ll have to find room for on my shelves.

Alternative video guide to eq2 by neXus

My Everquest 2 guild neXus has a regular group night on a Monday and someone (I might have had a hand in it ;) ), suggested we video the sessions. In our guild we often throw out the rulebook when doing zones, either because we never found it in the first place or due to the fact we just think “to hell with it”.

We thought it could be amusing for the gaming world to see our antics in Everquest 2. The first of our group nights to be recorded was Ward of Elements a 2 group raid zone. The link to our video on livestream is below.

Your year in MMO’s 2009?

Firstly a Merry Xmas  to all MMO-Symposium readers!

As I currently don’t have the net at home due to Virgin’s slack install dates. I’d like to know what you’ve all been up to this year in MMO terms?

What games have you played? Which ones kept you playing and which ones did you try and drop after a beta/first month?

Also which MMO’s are you looking forward to the most for 2010?

Station Players charges dropped

Sony Online Entertainment are making Station Players free to use for subscribers from December 17th. So if you play Vanguard, Everquest or Everquest 2 you’ll be able to see all the extra stats and use the extra services for free.

If you ask me it should always have been free but hey at least it will be soon. For SOE to drop the charge for station players, it likely means we’ll be charged elsewhere, probably via the station cash store.

Anyway here’s the full announcement.

Yetian gets his Mythical

Yetian gets his Mythical Bite of the WolfThat’s right, the one thing I’d never thought likely to happen has ….. happened!

Yetian my main in Everquest 2 has managed to get his Mythical weapon, Bite of the Wolf.

My guild neXus is as some of you may know a casual none raiding guild. After joining members from the guild Benevolence on a pickup raid I started talking to one of their number Nillynip, about our guilds helping each other out when needed. This quickly progressed to Benevolence forming an alliance of guilds to raid TSO and Mythical content.

Out with the old…

In with the old!

As all gamers have to do from time to time, I’ve swapped my ageing PC for a shiny new one. I won’t go into the spec and all that as it’s not MMO related. However the graphics card is a key element in an MMO PC. I decided as the next generation of Nvidia cards were not released I’d go for the ATI 5850.

The card flew through EQ2, even on a full 4 group raid with max graphics turned on. Battleground Europe was another story however. Once I worked around the mouse freeze which was actually Windows 7 related, the most I managed to play was maybe 2 mins before the screen froze. This was repeated each and every time I loaded the game, screen freeze but sound continuing as normal.
