Everquest 2 Battlegrounds

Smuggler's Den, one of the new Everquest 2 Battleground PvP zonesI just received an email from Sony regarding Everquest 2 Battlegrounds. There are 3 PvP maps with either 6 or 24 players on each side. The type of matches announced are Capture the Flag, Tower capture and hold, as well as having to find and hold onto a relic of some kind.

Apparently we wanted it so we’ve got it, according to SOE.

New Plugin for you Smart Phone users

I’ve installed the WPtouch Mobile Plugin after a recommendation from the owner of We Fly Spitfires MMO blog.

The plugin should detect your smart phone and display a faster, easier to navigate version of MMO-Symposium. I know most of these phones have a full web browser, I have an Iphone myself, If you prefer to use the normal theme on your phone there is an option to turn the theme off at if you scroll to the bottom of the page. The mobile theme plugin does result in faster page loads and it presents a nice front page where you can choose which post you want to read. Granted you probably will want to read them all if you haven’t already but hey. ;)

Let me know how you find the new plugin and if you have any issues with it when viewing this blog.

Alternative video guide to eq2 by neXus

My Everquest 2 guild neXus has a regular group night on a Monday and someone (I might have had a hand in it ;) ), suggested we video the sessions. In our guild we often throw out the rulebook when doing zones, either because we never found it in the first place or due to the fact we just think “to hell with it”.

We thought it could be amusing for the gaming world to see our antics in Everquest 2. The first of our group nights to be recorded was Ward of Elements a 2 group raid zone. The link to our video on livestream is below.

Star Trek Online Beta Begins

As you probably already know the Open Beta for Star Trek Online began yesterday.

I am currently trying to find a decent download for the beta client, but to no avail. By the time I get the beta downloaded the Open Beta will be over. :(

Now Atari have emailed me trailers and screenshots, some of the screenshots I posted about earlier here on MMO-Symposium. It looks like those screenshots and trailers are all I will see of the game for the moment. If I don’t manage to try open beta I certainly won’t be buying the game.

I’ll keep trying download sites such as tentonhammer and fileplanet to see If I manage to get it downloaded.

*Update* I ended up getting a 1 month fileplanet sub to download the beta, it’s downloading as I write this.

Copernicus Concept Art

Concept art from 38 Studios facebook page.Just a quick post to let you know about some Concept Art I discovered on 38 Studio’s Facebook page for their upcoming MMO Copernicus. It’s probably old news to some of you as it’s been there since November, but I only just spotted it so I’m sure others havn’t seen it either. ;)

As I follow @Moorgard and @rshwayder 2 of 38 studios employee’s on twitter I’m always keeping an eye out for news on Copernicus as from what I have heard the company have some nice ideas.

I’ll post any other news regarding Copernicus as I find it.
